Maybe it needs some cleaning.

Step-by-step guide on How to clean Lexmark printer rollers

When you are trying to clean the Lexmark printer rollers, it is better to use protective gloves to avoid getting covered in ink. Not only that, but it also helps to prevent the printer from getting damaged by the oil on your skin.

Step 1 : Turn off the device. Switch off the machine and unplug the power supply. Make sure that there is no electricity going in the machine. Do not attempt to clean the printer with the power on. This will damage the device.

Step 2 : Open the printer. Pull the release hatch which can be found on the left side of the printer. This will open the main door of the printer.

Step 3 : Remove the cartridge. Hold the toner cartridge handle with both hands. Pull up and out at an angle of 45-degrees until it is separated from the printer.

Step 4 : Find the roller. Close the main door halfway until you can see the roller. Since the roller moves with the door, you will not be able to look at the rollers until you half-close the door. Once you can see the roller, identify the mounting arms of the roller.

Step 5 : Remove the roller. Press one of the mounting arms which can be found on both sides gently outwards. This will release the rollers from the arms. Once it is loosened, pull out the roller from the printer.

Step 6 : Wash with warm water. Take the roller and hold it under warm running water to clean them. Wipe the surface of the roller with a soft cloth. This will clear any ink or dust particles from the roller. Next, dry the roller till it is scorched.

Step 7 : Reinstall the roller. Merely replace the printer’s roller into its place. Reattach both the mounting arms of the roller to keep it in place. Open the lid and replace the cartridge inside it. Once you have done that, you have successfully cleaned the printer roller.

You now know how to clean Lexmark printer rollers.
