Epson India has launched three brand new printers under its EcoTank category for the Indian market. The company was previously grappling with supply related issues since its production hubs were required to address growing demand worldwide as per a report by IDC. Epson launched these new EcoTank printers which start from Rs. 44,999 onwards in India. The L14150, L15150 and L15160 are multi-function, compact and wide-format printing devices. The Senior General Manager, Inkjet Printers, Epson India, Siva Kumar, stated that the brand new EcoTank printers will be suitable for business applications/uses which necessitate

He also stated that the printers come with higher input paper capacity which helps in lowering frequent refills of paper and takes care of maintenance related downtime as well. This enables superior efficiencies in business as well according to Siva Kumar. Epson India’s PrecisionCore technology is the driving force behind the new printers and strives to ensure faster and superior prints with its Heat Free Technology which ensures lower power consumption.
Connectivity options for these printers include USB, Wi-Fi and Ethernet which ensure smooth printing at all times. The L15150 and L15160 are Multi-Function A3 size Colour printers (MFP) with smudge and water resistant prints and pigment-based inks. The L14150 is a Multi-Function A4+ Colour printer (MFP) tailored for on-demand printing (A3+) and up to legal size copying and scanning. As per IDC reports, Epson is currently at number two in the Indian market, having garnered 29.1% in market share while shipments have come down by 49.4% (year on year).
In the inkjet category, Epson India posted 40.6% in market share while it lost a little chunk to Canon India and HP which came out with popular ink cartridge models. These were highly preferred by a large section of home printer users who did not wish to deploy big investments in this category.
