Print Plus UK has achieved the Carbon Balanced Printer tag, accomplishing a major chunk of its widespread initiative towards sustainability. The company, which is based in Bradford, got its certificate sometime earlier from the implementing entity of the programme on the World Land Trust’s behalf, CarbonCO.

Farid Malik, business development manager at Print Plus UK, stated that the company has already achieved FSC-certification earlier and through its clients, first learnt of the innovative Carbon Balanced Printer programme. Print Plus UK is already conscious about its impact on the environment and the company policy has already mandated zero fossil-fuel models for any new leased or owned cars. A major chunk of paper here is already carbon-balanced, either at the source itself or post printing. The inks are vegetable-based and these factors indicate the company’s focus on environmental sustainability to its customers.

Malik also stated that customers get more happiness and a sense of relief regarding their environmental footprint. Accomplishing net-zero carbon contribution is a major milestone for the company and it will keep progressing on its commitments in future years as well, according to him. Malik talked of the personal satisfaction that these accomplishments bring for the company and its people. The company will balance out almost 65 CO2 tonnes next year via the World Land Trust. This will help the World Land Trust to safeguard 4.08 acres of tropical forests which are threatened.

In the month of August, Print Plus UK deployed its third summer investment, namely the Bobst Fuego 80 folder gluer, which helped in diversification of the portfolio. As a part of a bigger investment drive of £250,000, the brand installed its Guangva B1foiler/de-cutter in July this year. Around one month earlier, it also received delivery of its Ricoh Pro C7210SX Graphic Arts Edition printers. This enhanced its digital printing line-up that also comprises the Xerox Versant 80.

The brand also operates its B1 Heidelberg Speedmaster XL 106 five-colour with coater and this was installed in the year 2018. There are finishing tools as well, including Horizon and Muller Martini stitching lines as well along with folding machines from Longford, Stahl and MBO. There are two completely integrated guillotines from Polar.
