Leading printer brand Brother UK led the pack in the colour laser printer segment last year for both all-in-one and single function categories. The firm snapped up 27.7% in market share after steady growth in sales for the MFC-L8690CDW and HL-L8260CDW models between December, 2020 and November, 2021. This put it marginally ahead of HP which had market share of 26.7% and also Xerox with 22%. Other players include Canon and Kyocera which have market share figures of 7.5% and 7.6% respectively for the period in question. Brother UK now leads the pack in both the 25 ppm+ and 14-24 ppm (pages per minute) categories.

The HL-L8260CDW wireless laser colour A4 printer is a comparatively affordable choice for home and smaller offices, offering high-speed operations and extensive connectivity features like the Mopria Print Service for Android and Apple AirPrint for iOS/OSX devices without driver installations being required. Other features include the iPrint&Scan app which enables printing and scanning via smartphones. The MFC-L8690CDW offers printing speed up to 31 ppm with two-sided scanning speed up to 56 images per minute in mono and colour. It also gets touch screen-based controls along with extensive mobile and cloud connectivity features. Brother UK also accounted for 34.6% of all unit sales last year in the consumer laser colour segment.

Greig Millar, General Manager, Sales, Brother UK, stated that topping the sales charts is a big milestone for the brand, indicating the success of its models in backing companies as they transform into a new era of work. He also added that industries have been grappling with stock-based issues and supply-chain hurdles although Brother devices have boosted productivity and efficiency for those working at office or home. He also talked about the brand’s drive to steadily expand its portfolio of services, hardware and solutions for businesses.
